CCAP CREDITS ADARA TECHNOLOGIES’ BANDWIDTH RECLAMATION SOLUTION FOR HEADROOM TO INCREASE BANDWIDTH SPEEDS TO MULTI-GIGABIT
Responding to Increased Demand Due to COVID, Cable Operator Can Now Increase Top Broadband Speed by 10X, When Needed
Solution Credited with Simultaneously Enabling 34% Increase to 190 HD and 4K Channels with Capability of Adding More Each Quarter Going Forward
TORONTO, ON – December 2, 2020 – Adara Technologies Inc. (www.adara-tech.com), the provider of game-changing solutions for mid-sized cable service providers, today announced that its customer Coopérative de Câblodistribution de L'Arrière Pays (CCAP) of Quebec City, a triple-play service provider with approximately 20,000 subscribers has completed a further expansion of Adara Technologies’ Bandwidth Reclamation Solution, providing the bandwidth headroom and capacity now to increase their top tier speed by 10X to multi-Gigabit when needed to keep up with steadily increasing customer demand.
Further, the Solution has also already enabled CCAP to simultaneously deliver 190 HD and UHD/4K video channels to their set-top box offering, an increase of four dozen such channels with more being added each quarter, noting that there is no limit for the Solution.
Among its many distinctive features, the Adara Bandwidth Reclamation Solution deploys without any customer disruption, giving service providers the necessary bandwidth they need quickly and without the major customer revenue losses typically associated with massively customer-disruptive techniques that can cost upwards of ten times that of Adara’s Solution.
The solution also leverages “codec-awareness” – a unique and powerful feature that distinguishes between MPEG2 and MPEG4 – thereby enabling the bandwidth efficiencies of MPEG4 without the need for a costly, customer-disruptive and time-consuming forklift replacement of MPEG2 set-top boxes.
The benefit is that the Solution can quickly free up significant amounts of operator bandwidth so that it can be immediately used for multi-Gigabit Broadband expansion using DOCSIS 3.0, 3.1 or 4.0 (Full Duplex). This is especially important now as providers look to respond aggressively to increased bandwidth demands brought on by the COVID-19 crisis.
“The extraordinary capability of the Adara Solution and partnership to provide massive additional bandwidth enables us to compete and win against our growing competition,” said Stéphane Arseneau, CCAP’s General Manager. “It provides us with the significant headroom to immediately increase our High Speed Internet offerings and, at the same time, enable our transition to a dependable IPTV service delivered reliably over DOCSIS.”
“Over the past several years which we have partnered with CCAP, our unified goal has been to deliver worry-free bandwidth-on-demand,” said Joseph Nucara, CEO and Co-founder of Adara, “This has permitted CCAP to focus on customer experience differentiation like increased Broadband capacity and IPTV migration rather than, every year, wasting valuable resources in search of more bandwidth. And especially now, in response to the many changes brought about by this pandemic, operators need shorter-term plays that can respond more aggressively to increased bandwidth requirements while at the same time insuring little to no customer disruption. Our SIPV Bandwidth Reclamation Solution answers all those requirements.”
The Coopérative de Câblodistribution de L'Arrière Pays has delivered cable television and telecommunications services for almost 38 years. The company supports a family approach in its offering of products, thus aiming at satisfying a greater number of possible users. The Co-operative also aims to offer products adapted to the needs for each customer. The mission of CCAP is to address the needs of its customers while remaining a dynamic organization in the field of the cable television and telecommunications. (www.ccapcable.com)
